The Butterfly Place is an indoor living environment which has been carefully designed for the propagation and development of butterflies. A 3,100 sq. ft. glass atrium towers to a height of over 27 ft. and contains up to 500 butterflies representing as many as 50 different species.

How long have you been in business?
The Butterfly Place has been in business for 25 years!
What is your primary product or service?
We are an indoor garden filled with hundreds of freely-flying butterflies. Educational and Fun! Observe life cycle of butterflies and moths.Visit the gift shop where butterfly hatching kits and unique gift items are sold. Ask about wedding ceremonies and birthday parties! Host for visits for schools, scouts, summer camps, non-profits and seniors. Photo opportunities!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We are a small family business. My father has loved raising butterflies and moths since he was a child. As a business man, he was intrigued by an article in The Smithsonian magazine which talked about butterfly houses in England....He said I'd like to do that! and sold a business he had owned for 20 years to start The Butterfly Place. I had been a preschool and after school teacher and love helping children get excited about butterflies and nature.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a unique establishment that is both educational and fun. As a small business, we and our staff look forward to providing a special experience and answering questions.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, checks, MC, VISA or DISCOVER
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
George Leslie and Sylvia Leslie, father and daughter.
What are your hours of operation?
Seasonal open Valentine's Day-Halloween. Check website.
