How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Michael Doherty founded Mikrodots, Inc. in 1996. In the late '70s, in his early teens, Michael began working on microcomputers (before PCs existed) doing programming, data entry and system repair. His interest in computers and technology continued through college and his work as an engineer with Panasonic in the mid '90s. In 1996 Michael founded Mikrodots, Inc. The name Mikrodots comes from Mike's nickname - all Dohertys were nicknamed Dots - Michael was called Mike Dots which became Mikrodots. Mikrodots initially built and sold 'white box' PCs and soon transitioned to providing Computer Services for Small Businesses in Woburn which it continues to do today. Michael is a 1984 graduate of Woburn High School and 1988 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He resides in Woburn with his wife and five children.
